We were all baffled at her score in last year’s AA, too. The judges love her on beam. Admittedly the choreography is so strong with the artistry rules and she does not stop moving.

It’s definitely not the most exciting beam routine. But it is what the code wants apparently.

With Gadirova it’s definitely not ballet! She just manages to make lots of different body shapes, changes tempo frequently, and does not stop moving at all.

Artistry checklist does not mean “ballet”.

Jess ticks all the boxes on the checklist. She has 0 hesitations, her tempo is strong, she makes full use of her body in the dance. Etc. Etc.
