If your legs are bowed but still together, that should not deducted. (I wouldn’t fault a judge for initially making that mistake but hopefully they can be trained to observe/understand that for particular gymnasts).To be fair there’s really only so much you can do about that, right? Like Becca Bross and her knees.
But if your feet are not pointed due to whatever anatomical or flexibility challenge you might encounter, it’s not a reason not to deduct. Same rationale for back flexibility, splits, etc.
With Simone, I’m not saying she actually has clubbed feet – she doesn’t – but I have been noticing that more and more lately she makes the club shape at the expense of a tight ankle alignment – especially on twisting elements and during her Maloney on bars and Cheng on vault, but even sometimes on handstands.
