Sure, but that’s specific to results rather than her. There’s a significant contingent of Americans who crab all her results, even with no Americans competing

I’ve said here and elsewhere many times that I hate floor. Most are just painful to watch. I don’t mind Jessica, though. I haven’t seen today’s routine, but I usually find her engaging.

And people were initially pretty pissed off about Ferrari’s win, IIRC. Won with a fall in the first Worlds with an open-ended system, to be fair, but I recall her being quite unpopular for a time.

Yes that’s true. IIRC people were also angry/offended that she took the Italian flag onto the rostrum for the medal ceremony.

I don’t think Tweddle got as much flack for doing it.

I think they will drop the lowest score of each and I think Alice will win it

Is this a rule though, or is it more a reflection of depth of those aforementioned powerhouse countries? Melnikova didn’t make a World individual podium til 2019 and Urazova is our resident 4th place finisher… Afanasyeva had also done a full quad before getting individual glory. There are plenty of gymnasts from those nations who don’t go straight to podiums as first-year seniors and take time to develop

Lauren Hopkins has apparently had it confirmed by the FIG that Hillary Heron CAN qualify to Paris via the AA results.
