Honestly, her vault today could knock Jade out of finals. And you’ve gotta remember, Mykayla has always scored higher internationally on vault.

You are assuming Jade will be healthy. She hasn’t shown anything to indicate her vaulting or FX are anywhere near previous level. Skinner could absolutely pip her in VT.

I really think it’s worth sending Skinner in some capacity (team or +1) for vault. Jade just hasn’t shown enough. Hopefully she is just being smart and not pushing it but who knows if she will be ok in Tokyo or not.

It’s funny because I was one of the first to posit Tom could take Biles, Carey and Skinner to attempt to maximize vault medal prospects, and now that it’s a realistic plausibility I can’t fathom it.

Tom has said he’s going to look at more than just trials. I still think there is an argument for her being a plus one.
