This is so hilariously bad I had to share.

It isn’t 10s that attract a crowd. It’s skills. The awesome skills and the beautiful skills. I get that they are retired from the higher standard but one release move on bars? Walking back and forth on the beam? Two passes? Please.

Its ridiculous. How about everybody gets a 10 as long as they hit. Two passes max. No big skills. Who cares about the crowds? Livvy wants followers on social media.

That's funny someone downvoted me. I am not saying it doesn't stink to not see harder skills and challenges get rewarded, but I think on a board like this where much self-selection exists, the viewpoint feels like college gymnastics should be like International elite "lite". So many people on this board are amazing with their knowledge and history of the sport and that is awesome. But just because you can find 10 or so posters nodding in agreement doesn't represent the large swath of casual fans. Our viewpoint is the "purest" and only right one (think recent elections) almost comes across as elitist. I think Livvy has a point in that recognizing college gymnastics, like college football is morphing to a product that can be packaged and sold to the broadest audience possible. Some posts sound like all the college football purist arguments about playoffs, transfer portals and NIL, Many ultimately go "Harumph, I'm not watching it anymore" but like it or not, we can bemoan the changes or just enjoy the ride, be thankful that so many more gymnasts are getting opportunities that were never afforded even 10 years ago. Pick a team, get behind it, talk trash to a rival, have fun with it.

And trust me, I am the biggest Livvy anti-fan on this board, but I recognize some truth when I see it.

Dunne doesn't give a shit about the growth of women's sports. She's just mad that LSU rightfully lost to Arkansas and having a temper tantrum that she's getting the scores she deserves. If she actually watched any meets she would see that attendance across the board is higher than ever. There was one "empty" meet during the NFL playoff game. Gymnastics doesn't need her or her disgusting "fans." I highly doubt gymnastics will suffer when she's finally gone next year.

She’s just mad that her 9.700 floor was given a 9.700 score….

Honestly this is a sport, not an exhibition. Let’s give 10s for deserved 10 routines not just for entertainment value.

can't wait for her and her nonsense to go away next year. This is all about her trying to stay relevant and build her fan base. I predict we will see a huge swathe of Livvy spouting as her time in college finally comes to an end, because she will have one last ditch attempt to get fans.
Also I predict her sticking her nose into every 'cause' that might keep her relevant and keep her fanbase. So boring.

I first saw this on the Inside Gymnastics Insta this morning, and was pleased to note that most of the comments were in favor of accurate scoring. I don't know a single casual fan who has watched NCAA with me and not felt the scoring was silly with everyone grouped so close to a 10. It's a sport, not a pageant, and people know when they're being presented something inaccurate.

It’s engagement farming. Posting hot takes literally makes her money.

Unfortunately it is not possible to monetise unpopular opinions on this platform.
It is hard to express how offensive I find Livvy. She clearly could not care less about the sport, but rather cares only about her ability to commercialize it.
