Simone might not have much of a chance at a medal if she did get called up but if somebody drops out and she doesn’t compete there’s a very vocal group that will slam, criticise, etc.

If it were that important to her, wouldn’t she have done it in prelims? Didn’t the US finish on bars? So she would have known that she could afford a lower e score

Exactly. It’s a lot of work to mentally and physically prepare when you’ve very little chance of competing.

And when you're competing in two EFs in one day, it just seems like a waste of energy when you could take a free day to rest instead.

I love Florida. Never had a problem flying there, but my coworker recently flew to MN and was delayed several times.
