It’s very very close between Chiles and DiCello. That’s why it annoys me when they gift Chiles and make it seem less close than it should be.

Strong team. I would sub Jones on beam for Wong, just because I feel more comfortable with Wong’s general consistency there.

Please be specific. The use of the general term body shape gets me every time.

Typically for Chiles it’s flexed feet and lack of split, culminating in a medium (0.3) overall body shape deduction.

Please do look at Shilese on beam tonight and her switch leap. I had 0.0 off (which is rare). Most dance elements get at least a tenth off for something or other.

She’s in the running from my perspective. Whether she wants it or not is obv up to her. The broadcast said she had packed her bags for college and was going straight after nationals (not even going home in between) but if I was her i’d be deferring it. She has a shot IMO.

Although with all the Chiles gifts, it won’t look like that on paper.

Her placement here might change that. She had a rough year so far including a poor showing at Pan Ams (and Pan Am trials) and having to water down to a FTY at Pan Ams with a beam fall also. Another consistent day Sunday might make up her mind.

The problem with Chiles’ wolf turns is she is so high up in the turn it’s barely even a wolf position. Look at how deep and lovely Urazova gets. Chiles looks like she’s doing a different element.

For comparison, Gadirova got an 8.3 IIRC and people were saying that was too high.

Yeah when she hits she’s gorgeous. Reminds me of Gabby. We knew she had the goods but she was such a fucking head case we never thought she would actually do it when it counted.
