They’re really similar style too. It’s what the Code wants. Powerful difficult gymnastics but with a gorgeous split, nice toe point, great handstands, big air on vaults.

:1st_place_medal: for me! The only way I can judge. 😉 (turns out, I’m not very good at it. I keep ending up high… 😉 )

Alipio had a very off night, didn’t she? I remember there being some talk of her being in the mix for worlds.

Not sure who would have had her in the mix for this year; she’s off to college this fall and just wanted to wrap up her elite career with one last Nationals.

They didn’t even show one routine of hers.

For some reason they were obsessed with Kaitlin Jong though.

Okay
Help
Other than feet, I’m lost

Alipio had a chance as beam specialist but shes clearly not up to that task

I need to go back and re-watch her floor. I had a 7.7 in real time and rich had a 7.6. I’d be more than happy to do a breakdown tomorrow. Her form has not improved since the Olympics (if anything, it has regressed) and her Olympic E Scores were also mid to high 7s. So i’m fairly confident we were judging her with an international pen.

An 8.35 E it was not.

We were more in line with her beam score. 7.9/8.0 and USAG gave 8.2.

For what it’s worth, I took 1 for body shape on the gogean (which was short and off balance). And I didn’t take any body shape on the L Hop Full. I can’t remember if I gave a 1 or a 3 for her wolf turn. She has a big bent knee going into it and it takes her a whole lot of time to get down into that position you’ve screenshotted.

Her straddle position is much better. But it’s not in alignment. One leg is higher than the other. There are deductions for body alignment for when legs are not in line/parallel to the floor.

@lovegymnasts look at how much higher Jordan is in the seat. Her ass is WAY above her knee.

Now look at Urazova.

Plus the arm position. Plus the posture and shoulder line.

These need to be adequately separated and I don’t think one tenth is enough.

Honestly, yes I would
Just because Urazova does it to the extreme does not mean Chiles does not meet the requirement.
