Compared to you guys, Grace and Kayla were underscored, Jordan overscored, and Skinner gifted over a point.

Is that WWGYM or USAG scores? If it’s the latter, Suni Lee is stupid close to Simone. I wish she could have upgraded vault and FX because there would be a fight for gold and that would be super interesting to watch.

We actually had Skinner in 7th (although that’s with Kara in 6th based on USAG scores as we didn’t get to see her).

The best (emotional) argument I can make for having Skinner on the four-person team is that it probably would strengthen Riley’s chances for the +1. I’ll be real mad if Skinner bumps Riley out of that position!

I 100% agree with the wwgym scores over the USAG scores, but I don’t see just based on the absurd scores tonight how you don’t put Skinner on the team. We need to start preparing ourselves now.

I can’t see Skinner beating anyone for an EF berth even on VT where we should have 2 of 3 medals

Well that was fun. I think we’re down from five candidates to three for the fourth team place. Even if Malabuyo and Wong are perfect on Sunday, I don’t think they’d be picked.

In this case, yes it is. When Simone historically has been further away from second place than second place was to 24th place, somebody being less than 2 points away from her is stupid close

I think if Wong has a lights out day 2 and stomps the other girls, she would still be in consideration for the 4th spot. It was just a fall and a bad landing on BB that tanked her (with wobbles, no doubt) but she likely wouldn’t be needed on BB for TF so she just needs to show improvement (at a minimum) to be back into consideration, I’d think.

New idea. Now McCusker didn’t really get the world leading score she would have wanted to secure that +1 spot but what about taking McCallum as a +1 for FX? Her 14.1 would have gotten gold at Europeans and we’ve all been saying how Jade is a lock for FX finals but nothing she has shown in the last few months backs that up. She has individual skills but she hasn’t put together a top level floor routine since before the 'rona. You can’t count on a BB specialist with the Chinese being so amazing right now and bringing McCusker for just UB and not delivering (by USAG’s judges, not the gymnaverse judges), if you took McCallum (because you’ve put Skinner on the main team (or DiCello or Wong), you have the built in alternate of your dreams and someone who can possibly win a floor medal if Jade falls on her TripDubLay.
