I had 6.5. The tucked full is not worth doing that way. The tuck jump half + pike jump are just terrible.

She has a GREAT straddle jump, though, and the mount, the aerial + 2 layouts, and the dismount are worth keeping. I bet she can hit that switch side better, too.

Back from the dead and very out of practice. I will post more evaluations, but will be a bit slow / behind real time as I am traveling through the middle of next week.

Shilese Jones - Uneven Bars

Dare I ask you to try Chiles’ floor? 😩😂

Artistry deductions does not mean she is artistic. She is not.
At all
Not
Dead expression
Just going through the motions
Doesn’t emote at all
Looks like she couldn’t give two *****/cents
She can’t even fake it
Again, picture Jong doing floor with her form
Not artistic
That’s like calling Jade artistic last quad
I…

Nevermind.

Which was ignored over and over by US judges last year and unfortunately both USAG and Chiles found out the hard way when she (and most of the US) got nailed in execution by the judges in Tokyo.
Yes artistry was a major concern, but the US lost out due to Russia having superior dance elements that either got .1 or .0 off. Whereas the US was often getting .3 off each, and it added up.
Cannot repeat this enough.

If we go by Euros Day 1, and USA Nationals Day 1, AA standings, from my/Rich judging, you’d have:
  1. Shilese 56.40
  2. McClain 55.75
  3. Carey 55.3
  4. DiCello 55.15
  5. Asia D’Amato 54.80
  6. Chiles 54.70
  7. Blakely 54.65
  8. Kinsella 53.90
  9. Maggio 53.80
  10. Jess Gadirova 52.90
Which is very good news for Team USA.

Im pretty likely to miss at least the beginning but if no one else puts in usag numbers, I’ll get it when i get home.

I was consistently about 2 ish tenths lower than USAG on floor on Day 1.

Except this. 7.35E? Am I missing something? I had 7.8.

Seems to have raw talent. I’m seeing comparisons to Shawn. But I hope she works on her knees and feet.

I had 7.3. By the end of the double tuck I had around 1.7 off. That double tuck has about a full point on it.

I like her because her gymnastics is scrappy and fun. She isn’t going to Worlds or anything so what do I care if her execution is bad. She just is where she is and she seems happy about it so why not enjoy it.

ETA: I wouldn’t mind if she cut every single leap and jump out of her routines.
