Oh I'm sure, but they do look like a good bet for at least one from the beam series don't they? If Nina can get 13.6 from an international panel, usual caveats about not having seen the routine yet, I think it has to be hers to lose. Nobody else who's in the running is likely to match that. The next one down points wise is Lai Pin Ju, and there's quite a lot of clear water between her and both Belgians.
Being Belgian myself, I would be very happy :)
Let's see how the other world cups are going. However it is a good start.

Now I really hope that Maellyse Brassart will get better. Last year she was 5th in EC AA. So in theorie she also has a good change if her foot healed completely after the injury of last september (no clue om this)

Wouldn't you check with the Olympic committee before spending the money to send someone half way across the world for a few weeks to qualify?

It just doesn't make any sense to me that they would go to those lengths and then not accept the spot.
To be fair the athletes still get international experience at a world cup.

How does this work? Does Malabuyo getting second on fx behind Okamura mean she gets full points because Japan already qualified a team?

I think the points are not reallocated, but if Okamura has the most points over the series, she would not be eligible, so it goes to the next in line.

Kind of like how Pan Am Games AA allocation went down to 8th place and Luisa Blanco.

Someone could finish 6th on bars in the series, but still get to go to Paris because they were top 2 eligible athletes.

I am not 100% sure on this, however.

I think this is correct! Unless they've made any recent changes...

Per Gymternet Twitter (X), the points are reallocated.

Chuso's prelim vaults. Not bad, not spectacular, but definitely lacking in difficulty. This twitter account is posting lots of prelim videos.

Sure, but GRB has been competing internationally since 2016. A very expensive way to get a veteran experience they don't really need at this point.

I'm really glad to see Tang Chia-Hung win HB because it will help him qualify. He was out last year with an injury. Glad he's back.

Angel Barajas is MEGA talented. Is this his first medal at a World Cup? we'll see more of that for the next, oh, 12 years, judging by how long some past Colombians competed. (Calvo is still competing and actually medaled!)

Barajas only became senior eligible this year, so, yes, first world cup medal. He got fucked over by 2023 Pan Ams being the Continental qualifier, because he wasn't eligible.
There's a couple other kids coming up the ranks in Colombia, too. I wonder if they will be a competitive team in coming years.

Just weird to redistribute the points, they already have a column that says "not eligible".
But I guess good for the athletes that are eligible, Malabuyo gets the extra 5 points. That could end up being the difference.

So as I hang my head in shame, I'm going to ask. How many gymnasts qualify per event? Too many rules and too much chaos in my life right now to look it up or try to remember.

And, unlike Tokyo, those who qualify on an event can only do that event in Paris. No AA for event specialists this time.
