13.2 for Eythora on beam. Knocks Wu Ran out of finals.

Floor has finished

Malabuyo is very lucky to make the final with that score. People not on that page include Ondine Achampong (11.2), Wu Ran (11.730), both North Koreans, Belardelli of Italy and plenty of others capable of beating a 12.4.

That’s cool I would’ve loved if andrade or jones got it named after them though… It is amazing that it took until 2024 to get it into the COP

Unless Malabuyo has a whole lot of difficulty she hasn't unleashed on floor yet, getting to Paris is going to be difficult.

Ondine put up a 13.770 (5.8/8.070/-.1) on beam to lead qualifications. She's more than 5 tenths ahead of Pinxten in second.

I think her approach is to go for relatively low D/high E close to her NCAA routine, and her D score is close enough to everyone relevant except Moerz for that to work. She needs more than 7.5 E though.

I think that is a hard route. FIG, I feel, do not alway differentiate bad and good routines with E scores.

Vault results. Rasmussen apparently crashed her DTY and got a 0.

Ouch bad day for Camille. Assuming An Chang Ok has the first spot wrapped up with a big bow on it and they're all competing for the second, I don't think the 8th place is necessarily that big a problem. Not with three more to come. But she could really have done with not giving the others the opportunity.

WAG bars is here. Full points to GMF. What's going to happen if she ends up qualifying on bars instead of through the continental route?

I'm trying to manifest an Olympic spot for Georgieva.

Based on what McGregor has said about her experience in 2016, even if GRB gets a WC spot, the federation is going to have a tough time convincing the NZL NOC that whoever earns the Continental spot is worth sending. I've seen it dubbed the no-olympic-tourists policy or something like that.

If they were to decline, would the Continental spot go back into the world's AA QF pool? Or would it just be forfeited?

The GMF/GRB mixup is apropos alongside Downie's 12.9 lol

If Brown qualifies on bars, hypothetically then the Continental spot would go to the next highest ranked NZ gymnast. Of course, NZ Olympic Committee would be unlikely to send them. If Brown is the top NZ AAer, I wonder if they would decline the WC spot.

I don't think they can choose which spot she gets in that situation. Brown would get the World Cup spot and then be ineligible for the Continental spot. If New Zealand refuse the Continental spot there doesn't appear to be any mechanism to reallocate it outside Oceania, so it would probably just mean one fewer gymnast in Paris unless the FIG find some way to avoid that.

So from what I’ve heard she would need to be within a shout of making an event final, around the top 16 in the world. 13.7 would have placed 19th in Qualifying at 2023 worlds, 16th if you remove 2pers.

I’d say borderline, but maybe the fact that she earned the berth through winning the World Cup series as opposed to a continental quota will significantly help her cause.
