The US didn’t win execution on a single event but still came out on top. GB won vault and floor.

Italy’s beam disaster did them in.

NED won bars, just barely edging out China.

China and France should thank Pod that d scores factor in, because otherwise they would have been knocked out of finals.

I used the execution scores of the 3 counting scores. This means I sometimes did not use the 3 highest execution scores; there were several instances where all 4 gymnasts on a team hit, but the difference in D score meant a lower e score routine ultimately counted towards the team total.

They had 6 falls yeah? Great Britain had one too, so China stills comes up slightly short. They are Silver if talking other realistic E-score increases on top of removing the falls.

That neither China or Japan qualified a team for Paris here is good news for Worlds next year, as it probably means they will prioritise Worlds over Asian Games, which have been rescheduled and now clash. Their mens teams will have more choice, but even the mens B teams would still be very strong.

I wish theyd stop making the rules harder. I miss the days when they could hit perfect routines. I appreciate the difficulty, but there has to be a middle ground between the 90s and where we are now. I hate seeing so many falls

I agree. I find myself rewatching the 89-92 quad. Watching China fall 5 times doesn’t make the sport seem legit.
