A Bhardwaj? I literally cannot wait to see it in person. I figured the cost of Chuso, Andrade, and Iordache would be Skinner, but her team seems hell bent on making it impossible.

I don’t think she will end up competing the bhardwaj. I’m also wondering why they’re pushing a full in dismount on beam. It’s bad. And that’s with a hefty pause beforehand. Her floor could be good if they used literally the one good pass she has—the punch front through to triple, instead of letting her throw scrappy, no amplitude skills.

Skinner’s floor would score higher with less difficulty. She is senselessly throwing away multiple tenths on each and every pass. She should have ditched the Moors completely.
Silivas opening pass, punch front to full in, triple full dismount would do wonders for her execution.

Skinner and her coaches have no awareness of what is actually best for her when it comes to skills selection

The full-in is one of those things which is simultaneously not a good skill but easy to see why they’re pushing it. She pauses before the double back, and a pause deduction is 0.1 whether it’s 2 seconds or an hour (additional 0.1 for overtime). The upgrade gives her 0.5, a significant bonus, and worth it if she can keep chest position to a 0.1. Obviously that goes down the drain if she lands short, but she has miraculous ways of pulling skills to her feet with no set or rise. Television doesn’t do it justice.

Off topic, but I so want a judge to take a 0.1 pause before the candle. I assume that isn’t legal because the routine technically hasn’t started, but Skinner takes an exorbitant amount of time with hers.

I’ve found myself senselessly rooting for Skinner despite her skill selection and form issues. I just so wish they had fixed her floor and stopped pushing the bars and beam upgrades. It’s almost cruel to watch, it just hurts her so badly when all she needs is her legs together and to ditch the Moors to get endurance to do what she’s good at.

I cannot root for her.
She cleaned up dramatically in NCAA. I actually enjoyed watching her bars. Execution matters in NCAA so she and her coaches needed to come up with routines that would be done cleanly.
The same strategy should have worked for her comeback. Instead the team went back to old ways and just padded the D score significantly. It is frustrating because several of us could construct routines that are easier in value which would then improve her overall score.

It is unfortunate that Forster is simple a figure head and cheerleader. The US needs a high performance director than can work with coaches to construct smart routines.
Skinner is not the only one with this issue, GAGE also has issues with routine construction.

I am hoping she will unveil a switch ring half transition.

At this point, a very smart decision on her part as she is still fairly desirable as UB/BB specialist for the other +1 spot. Especially if Carey focuses on VT ad FX only since she has been injured and not doing full difficulty.

I do like Jade, I wish she would just rest up since she is already going to Tokyo

Skinner tidbit
  • Plan is to do the Pak the first day and, if things are going well, to do the Pak full on day two.
  • She was initially interested in the specialist spot, but Tom wanted her to do AA since Jade was already going that route.

I wonder about the Aerial Cartwheel. It’s not giving her any D Score, now she’s doing the Straddle 1/2 Split 1/2 connection.

Why haven’t they removed it?

The side aerial is currently one of her counting acro elements (full-in dismount, aerial, side aerial, layout stepout), or are you saying she would be better off leaving it out for an E score benefit and just counting another C element (switch leap)?
