3 I think.Someone remind me.....a country that didn't qualify as a team, what is the max number of athletes they can send to Paris?
Looked her up. She's from Belarus. Thanks, Ginger, that's what I thought. Yet FIG world cup olympic qualification points include Mexico, so I thought maybe I was wrong. Looks like FIG made an error (shocker!) and Mexican gymnasts shouldn't be eligible for those points, since they secured 3 spots already.
meanwhile, neutral athlete Alena Tsitavets is 4th on bars. Interesting.
I think the continental spots are awarded after the World Cup spots in the order of things. Most of the continents are using this year's championships to determine that spot; because of the timing of Pan Am games, the Americas are using last years competition, but the spot won't officially be awarded until after the World Cup qualifiers are decided. So if someone earned a spot through both Pan Ams and World Cups, they'd get the World Cup spot and the Pan Ams spot would be redistributed to the next person on the list. Thanks, Ginger, that's what I thought. Practically yes, even if any were to apply and be accepted. In theory people could qualify from two world cups only, but that's now how things are shaking down.Looked her up. She's from Belarus.
Then I found this, FIG authorised neutral athletes list. I probably missed something, so does this mean Russian MAG and WAG are definitely out of Paris?
You're correct that Continental spots are technically awarded after world cup spot. But Mexico obtained all their spots at worlds: the nominative spots, and the third non-nominative by finishing 13-15 as a team.I think the continental spots are awarded after the World Cup spots in the order of things. There goes me trying to give FIG the benefit of the doubt. I should know better (and look things up before I post)You're correct that Continental spots are technically awarded after world cup spot. Sorry, I posted the wrong info previously. If you finished in the top 16, you are eligible for reallocated points. Outside of the top 16 after qualifications? No points for you, no matter how many ineligible gymnasts placed above you.
