I do not understand the propping up of Roberson. Her gymnastics offers nothing to be competitive with the returning Olympians/NCAA.

Roberson has an impressive array of skills but none of them are beautiful. The swayback and splits are awful.

Somebody has to explain why every elite gymnast with that body type has such swayback and why nothing is done about it. Shawn Johnson and Simone Biles have the same issue.

I will say that I don’t find her nearly as bad as Skinner. The Onodi is filthy and the leaps are hilarious, but she does have a few redeeming qualities.

I’d love to know, too. Physiologically, I’m fairly sure it’s because their psoas muscles are absurdly tight. But why it seems so much more common in very short, muscular builds is beyond me.
