No. They don’t exist, they can’t enter Olympic venues or facilities or get any Olympic apparel

Leanne as alt is the correct choice, but alternate twice? How brutal.

I think having her be in charge of her gymnastics was a mistake. Even before she went to FL, Al Fong made several comments to the effect of her being particular and stubborn about her gymnastics. He suggested she had a tendency to over train if left to her own devices and didn't like to take out skills if she thought she was competing them well. Coaches always praise her work ethic, but athletes like that are hard to coach.

The gymnasts usually don't attend the opening ceremonies because they have qualifications the next day

I don't know why nobody has been grasping this concept. The USA is always weak on UB, so a high score potential on UB plus solid on the other events is the ticket to major teams.

In fairness, the US lost two of their top beamers to injuries, and a third who can put up a good score, in under a week.
