Skye also scored better across 2 days on Bars at Pan Ams than Nola did at Pokal. Granted, I think that is incorrect judging, but if you know how the judging is going to be, then selection should be based on that.
By average Blakely scored better, Matthews had the single highest score.
Matthews has scored over 14 twice this year on bars and Blakely has not broken 14 once.

Similar to the US MAG, the women could afford to use a one eventer with the highest scoring potential.

I was literally cringing the whole routine. She looks like she is fighting for her life on every single skill

This routine, from March, was so unbelievably much better. More fluid, secure, confident in every respect. Almost could have come from a top Russian

Like someone else said upthread - she is regressing. Its so apparent. And the Inbar on the low bar is not a good look for her.

Yeah the difference in those routines is staggering, I have 8.8 execution for the Pokal routine and 7.6 for Nationals. She might want to change the Inbar back to a Toe-on for now, the .1 difficulty increase is not worth the extra deduction. Day 2 of Nationals it was better than Day 1, but still going to get hit for flexed feet and bent arms. Or if she’s keeping the Inbar, then consider changing the Chow to a Maloney to help avoid flexed foot deduction there.

I agree, I can’t see that this is a true specialist v AAer situation at the moment. If Nola were on an improvement rather than regression path it might be a different argument.

It is if you enjoy watching a back catalogue of US domestic meets. It’s not worth it for current stuff and there’s no Olympic content (including Olympic trials)

Well that certainly opens up an alternate position at the very least. So sad for Jong though.
If it is Blakely, Carey, Chiles, Jones, and Wong as the 5 I could very well see Addison Fatta as traveling alternate.
(If Nola Matthews, bars specialist doesn’t happen)

Any idea what happened?
She says ankle injury.

I mean, have you seen her beam dismount? And those tumbles? She doesn’t exactly fly through the air.

Of note: The Metroplex coach was the same coach that Kim Zmeskal plucked from Metroplex in the late 00’s that turned TD into a dominant level 10 program for many years.

I mean, isn’t the team kinda obvious at this point? I literally only recognise five faces… maybe Fatta too…that kinda says something no? ha

Yes, I looked at my crystal ball, and it seems Jade and Jordan heard about Gabby’s comeback, got really scared, and have been stress eating all week. They will get the twisties and completely flop at this competition

The team will be Shilese Jones, Leanne Wong, Skye Blakely, Nola Matthews, and Alicia Sacramone, who has been training in secret and waiting for her time to strike.
