Understandable that Parker may need some time to sort out vault. But watching her today it seemed inconceivable that she’s done doubles.

Im surprised by the number of DLO’s we’re seeing on bars. They don’t look like they’ll hold up well to a growth spurt.

I don’t understand this.
What was her difficulty? Execution? Final score?

General thoughts before I go have a beer or 4 before seniors:

On the whole, bars was rough.

Lacie Saltzmann seems lovely, but she shouldn’t be elite. She vaults a handspring front tuck. Her 2nd pass on floor is front tuck step out to back layout full.

I am driving the Jayla Hang bandwagon. My mom was very impressed by her as well.

So. Many. Fucking. Wolf. Turns.

Junior coaches love those back dive mounts on beam.

Ella Kate Parker is not in Valeri’s group.

Alicia Zhou was just lovely, did a great job today.

Tiana S., Dulcy Caylor, and Audrey Snyder struggled on at least one event.

Madray Johnson quietly won today. Her gymnastics is clean, but I can’t quite get excited about her.

Artistry is…lacking. Badly. I know this is going to take time to fix, but oof.

Does her gym not have someone to teach her or is there another reason (mental) why she’s got some bar issues? I’ve seen her name and some her skills before and she’s always scoring super low on bars. It’s sad for her.

For people wanting to know the WOGA separations, I’m pretty confident this is the list.

WOGA Plano (Liukin)
Avery King
Claire Pease
Hezly Rivera
Madray Johnson

Konnor McClain

WOGA Frisco (Marchenko)
Sage Bradford
Ella Kate Parker
Ella Murphy

Brooke Pierson
Skye Blakely

When did gymnasts resurrect the preppy habit of tying jackets around the shoulders? Is this the first meet they’ve started doing that?

Bars continues to give the juniors a really rough time.

  1. Madray Johnson 67.150
  2. Jayla Hang 65.700
  3. Alicia Zhou 65.250
  4. Hezly Rivera 65.000
  5. Tiana Sumanasekera 64.600
  6. Claire Pease 64.150
  7. Zoey Molomo 64.050
  8. Audrey Snyder 63.950
Johnson, Rivera, and Pease all started on vault.

Midway day 2. Bars continues to claim victims at an insane rate.
  1. Madray Johnson 80.600
  2. Alicia Zhou 78.750
  3. Jayla Hang 78.400
  4. Tiana Sumanasekera 78.200
  5. Malea Milton 77.600
  6. Audrey Snyder 77.300
  7. Dulcy Caylor 76.950
    8t. Hezly Rivera 76.550
    8t. Zoey Molomo 76.550

Most all them are Paris-eligible. I know Gabrielle Hardie is not, and there’s maybe 1 or 2 others. But remarkably, maybe the US coaches have figured out there’s no need to go elite at 11 years old.

One event left.

Rotation 7 Standings
  1. Madray Johnson 93.550
  2. Tiana Sumanasekera 92.200
    – Alicia Zhou 92.200
  3. Jayla Hang 90.800
  4. Dulcy Caylor 90.550
  5. Zoey Molomo 90.450
  6. Hezly Rivera 89.550
    – Audrey Snyder 89.550
Tiana to bars, so… Jayla Hang is going to vault, where she can score 14+. Madray just has to not crash floor to win.
