And there is no reason why Biles couldn’t go to Paris AND Los Angeles.
THAT would be the best retirement, to compete at a major event at home.

Last time a major event in gymnastics was held in the US was 2003. Biles was 6 years old then, LOL

What kind of career medal haul are we looking at?

Rio: 4 gold, 1 bronze… (Team, AA, VT, FX, BB)
Tokyo: likely 4 gold + 1 unknown likely the same except BB could be any color medal or none at all.
Paris: What kind of “specialist” would she be? I would imagine the only event she would give up could be bars. So that’s still 4 or 5 medals. And even as a specialist, she would be on the team.

So, after Paris, she could be between 10 and 15 medals.

Opinion: Punishing Simone Biles for her greatness is act of foolishness by gymnastics officials

Gymnastics officials should be celebrating the talent that make Biles a once-in-a-lifetime athlete instead of throwing up barriers to achieve parity.

This whole narrative about “punishing” Simone is only relevant for her beam dismount. The vault was very fair to be put between 6.6 and 6.8.
