I didnt like the gold stars…something about the gold AND silver AND black was just too much.

Team Prelims White Stars

I would have loved the USA prelims leo with white stars instead of gold.

Having the word “orange” (“orenji”) in katakana on the Dutch leo is a choice, I suppose. And it’s not even correct. It’s supposed to be “オレンジ” but the second character is wrong.

I like your photo shop with the white stars!

I love unitards when I design them in my head but so far, I’m hating the German choices. I think with a unitard, you can’t fall into the trap of designing them like a leotard. There’s simply too much fabric, so you need to hold back. These are so busy and entirely unflattering on the body. I think they look a lot better without sleeves, and with more geometric/blocking type of design rather than swirly/faux nude nonsense.

A cut like this but with some colors and maybe a little bling would be fabulous:

The main problem is too many crystals.

Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

We’ve always had body suits in RG, and despite usually being adorned by several shifts worth at the Swarovski factory, usually look nice. I can’t put my finger on where Germany have gone wrong, but it didn’t look right on any of them

I love the Brazilian leotard - really pretty. I also liked the one worn by the Korean girls.

The main team USA one was a bit like a kid had gone mad sticking stars everywhere.

Belgium does not look good in a still photo, however looks good in action in video.

Agreed the German unitards are a miss for me. They are overly designed I think and there is something about the design of the legs. multiple colors, mesh, and crystals are way too much. I wouldn’t mind if the rule was that the legs have to be one solid color with no designs, mesh, stripes, etc that can be used to hide leg form/bent knees.

I think my favourite was the Dutch leotards, though I would be interested in seeing it without the yellow. I think the USA leotards looked better from a distance. That’s another one that would be improved without the yellow (yes white stars look better). JPN/CAN leotards were solid. Love the idea of unitards but the leg mesh is ugly. GBR was ok, didn’t hate it, didn’t love it.

I totally agree. They look like stage outfits rather than sports outfits. Not sure why. I don’t think they are flattering but plain legs would be a massive inprovement. I think the RG ones look better because the girls are a different shape (let’s not go into that too much)

I prefer the lower leg cut that the US and Canada have brought this year. I think its more sporty. I find the GB ones too high.

I love that the German team took their statement to the Olympics. I don’t love everything about the actual design of the unitard. It felt like the color/design was too solid where it shouldn’t be, and not solid enough where it should. Also the super low mesh undoes some of the message and also wasn’t super flattering.

I liked the US leos, honestly, though fewer crystals might have been better. Australia, Italy, and China (all three versions) I quite liked. I don’t like Japan’s in stills but in competition it worked.

Edit because I wanted to mention I also really liked Egypt’s leo with the geometric crystals on the dark background.
