Because of the risk of taking a one eventer who was mediocre/watered down both days of Trials.

And who was underwhelming in 2022 in the exact same team scenario.
Somebody who does only one event out of six doesn't get to water down on their sole event at Olympic Trials and be taken seriously, even if they were still first on the event.

If you wanted a sure hit PH routine, Khoi isn’t that person either. Remember TF last worlds? And Khoi messed up 2 of his 4 PH routines in this process.

There is nothing in the selection procedures that prevents this scenario. Team GB did just fine with Louis Smith.

The selection procedures have locked the team in.

I bet you we watch all these exact same fluffs tomorrow night while waiting for the women's committee to decide. The WAG selection committee is being given 20-30 minutes to convene after the competition concludes.

Hopefully NBC doesn't attempt to spoil the announcement then too. If their team today is the men's team, they really ruined the drama of them walking out onto the floor being announced.

I like it when they use the little pieces of confetti vs the ribbons of confetti because the little pieces last in the air longer, stretching out the magic moment.

The ribbons are probably a lot easier to clean up off the floor though.

USAG appears to be in better financial shape now compared to 2021. They were able to afford shirts for the gymnasts' photo shoots this time.
