I think it’s a shame that it’s not allowed to have a mix of unitards and leotards in team competition, as long as the body is the same. In not doing so, it kind of removes everything that allowing unitards was aiming to do. Since gymnasts don’t really have a choice as the rules stand.
I like this one:
Totally agree. Removing choice is not a step forwards.I think it’s a shame that it’s not allowed to have a mix of unitards and leotards in team competition, as long as the body is the same. I like the white, but the top section reminds me of Australia’s “handkerchief” leotard from 1992 Olympics Optionals (not good)I usually hate belts, but I like South Africa
I suspect that was behind a lot of the beam issues we heard about. The fact that the mat color prevents gymnasts from seeing the beam is a problem for me.
Someone said they thought Suni took out her layout mount because of this.
Agreed. I think the arena is super pretty, but I don't like that lack of contrast. The fact that the mat color prevents gymnasts from seeing the beam is a problem for me.

or toss a few thin sting mats under the beam to provide the contrast (or a carpet remnant from one of the other areas of the arena).I wonder if they could have gotten a beam cover the same shade as the vault? It would be a bit different, but at least there would have been contrast.
