Haha no, I don’t think Russia could currently be accused of playing things pretty well.

What is EVEN MORE impressive for Turkey is that Arican, Asil, and Onder just came from the Islamic Games held August 10-11 for MAG!

Literally at two different international competitions back to back.

After 4 events, GBR is looking strong. Turkey had to count a fall on floor and two low pommel scores, so the meet opened up for France, Italy, and Spain to move ahead.

Great Britain runs away with the title easily.
Turkey was able to overcome counting falls to get bronze. France and Spain struggled on high bar and pommels respectively to finish 5th and 8th. Disappointing for Spain after they finished 3rd in TQ, they dropped 2 points on floor, 3 points on pommels, 2 points on vault, 3 points on pbars, and 2 points on high bar. Not a good day losing 12 points from the first round.

Nice improvement from Hungary MAG to move up from 8th to 6th, it is good to see them back as a strong team and with their talented juniors, things are looking up in the lead up to 2024.
Italy has to be stoked to grab the silver, just like Hungary, another team on the rise.
Perhaps they can qualify full teams to Paris. Italy last had a full team in 2012 and Hungary hasn’t had a full team to the Olympics since 1992.

Ugh that’s disappointing for Spain but hopefully they can build something from the qualies performance…

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus. Breaking the femur is already the most painful bone break and adding ligament tears on top of that???

Perhaps it was where the femur meets the top of the knee? She really did corkscrew into the ground. I looked away before she even landed.

More sad news:

Another torn ACL 😩

According to google translate the tweet says: “Unfortunately Lorette Charpy has just announced that she broke her cruciate ligaments again during the European Championships 😥 A hard blow for our Frenchwoman who was returning to competition. Good recovery Lorette 😪🤕
