I have some reservation about using some of these USAG scores. They were pretty accurate for Leanne today but not for Skye. There’s no way on earth Skye is going to get an 8.6 E Score on beam at Worlds and Cheryl damn well knows it.

I think there were compositional issues because of her fall, but I’d need to rewatch it

The fact that Jones and Carey were almost tied on BB despite Carey having a higher D-Score and Jones having a fall and large DMT deductions shows how other-worldly the domestic judging continues to be. I get that it is good to “prop” up the hopefuls - but it gets to be a bit much.
Shilese barely has a beam routine. It’s genius construction. We had Shilese with a 12.45 and Jade with a 12.2.

Carey was pretty overscored on beam today. And the individual USAG scores ranged from 7.6 to 6.8 which is pretty diabolical judging.

Oh USAG is BS for the overscoring going on but in terms of overall scoring potential and performances the rankings show the right team.

I think the way Zeiss competed internationally this year probably had her in the lead for alternate spot going in and Fatta would have had to make a strong case to pull ahead of Zeiss. She did well but not well enough to pull ahead.

Ugh did they really make those poor gage girls pack as if they were going to England?! Brutal

Zeiss has the better AA score yesterday, and the better score if you count their highest routine on each event. And has experience of a major international competition with her Pan Ams AA silver this year.

BUT Fatta’s 13.7 floor today is the 4th best floor score, so could be used in a team final if she were called in for one of the top three, whereas Zeiss doesn’t really have any particularly strong routine likely to be used if she were on the team.

@Yarotska I have a 7.9 for Skye on bars. You have an 8.5 and USAG have an 8.5. This is the only time we are this out on a normal routine. Not sure what happened?! She was so late on like 3 pirouettes!?

ETA: J4 gave an 8.8?!?!

Well, not to think that the “crack” wasn’t of the highest grade -but - I went back and just watched the exercise of the gymnast who fell 2 x on BB (Disidore?) - she was given a D-score of 5,3 - she had no dance connection! I was at 4,8. I understand the financials at USA Gymnastics are tough ATM - but maybe get a reputable dealer!

The J2 who gave Jordan an 8.4E on beam … what the actual fuck. I had a 7.5 and I wasn’t even being harsh I thought.

Maybe leave some things behind and at the airport purchase an “I survived Katy, TX and all I have to show for is it this lousy t-shirt”!

Re: Disidore and Neal, I got the impression that they are pushing routines that are at their current limits in order to compete at this level. They had to take a big step up to make it to this point this year, yes? Hopefully a year’s work will help them be able to do the difficulty they are attempting. If they actually hit their routines I could totally see why they were there.
Edit- And they really had to try the harder routines to have half a chance, I think. So easier but cleaner might not have been worth trying. Nothing ventured, nothing gained?

I thought her half pirouettes to eagle were borderline so due to the angle I gave benefit of the gymnast as FIG often seems to do on UB. In general my UB scores are higher than yours with the exception of Zeiss who was just a mess.

I think the UB girl is the one who should be thanking the Gods she walked away under her own accord. And wasn’t she the one who was touted to the UB specialist? An Ashton Locklear she is not.
