Good news for Malabuyo, she really needs the max 30 points here to secure a spot.

If Casabuena gets 30 points and Malabuyo 20, then Casabuena will only be 9 points behind in the point standings, and she didn't get any points in Cottbus. Moerz will be top 2 regardless of the order on Sunday.

Reece Cobb finishes 16th on BB here which might be her saving grace if she gets the continental spot.

Although GRB missing the final here won't have done Cobb any favours, will it? Presumably the other athletes would prefer her to qualify through bars.

Derwael's made Paris, as we all thought she would. She will get a minimum of 25 points here as there's only two eligible individuals in the final, which means she'll have at least 85 by close of play on Sunday and will thus be at least 2nd overall.

10 ESP CASABUENA Laura 5.3 7.500 0.000 12.800 R2

Only Derwael and Ting are eligible for points in the final. Derwael qualifies for Paris. Ting will take second place but she will be the only gymnast in contention for the second spot with points from all three events, so has less to potentially gain in Doha.

Moerz, Malabuyo and Casabuena are eligible for points in the final, so at least 20 each. Moerz can qualify here if they finish in the same order as qualification. Malabuyo cannot mathematically qualify here. She can get very close, if she takes 30 and Casabuena only gets 20, Malabuyo will be 29 points ahead with 30 on the table. But on the other hand if Casabuena gets 30 and Malabuyo 20, the gap will be only 9 points. Kayisoglu and Erika Pinxten are currently still in it, but could be eliminated after the final.

I'm sure this has been answered so I apologize in advance but has Carlos Yulo qualified for Paris or he is competing here trying to qualify?

All this number crunching is making me sad that we never got to enjoy the AA World Cup series for Tokyo.

Having the individual qualification WC competitions in close succession is more exciting than the longer series last quad/quint.

Today's finals are all done already

This is straightforward, Georgieva and An have qualified for Paris. Today's points take An to 85 and Georgieva to 80, the next athlete is Navas who has 47 and can reach 70 at most in Doha.

Edit: Technically An's vault spot is not yet guaranteed, if she finishes second on vault and somehow wins bars she would go for bars instead. But Georgieva can only tie, and by my calculations to win a tiebreak she would need to score about 14.5 in Doha, which isn't happening.

Am I right in thinking that bars qualification can't be settled today and everyone concerned will need to compete in Doha?

Nemour wins by a huge margin again. Another Chinese gymnast falls (probably) in the final.

30 points go to Williams, 25 to Kuusikko, 20 to Masova and 18 to Ruivivar. Which leaves the standings a bit of a mess. 11 gymnasts are still mathematically in with a chance heading to Doha.

Georgia-Rose Brown 50 (0)
Jennifer Williams 48 (0)
Vanesa Masova 48 (10, max score after Doha 68)
Nathalie Westlund 47 (8, max score 69)
Levi Ruivivar 44 (12, max score 62)
Sara Sulekic 44 (12, max score 62)
Alena Tsitavets 30 (0)
An Chang Ok 30 (0)
Maisa Kuusikko 25 (0)
Maellyse Brassart 25 (0)
Laura Casabuena 23 (0)

In brackets are the lowest scores they'll be trying to drop in Doha. Masova, Westlund, Ruivivar and Sulekic will only increase their total by whatever they score in Doha minus that lowest score, so e.g Ruivivar and Sulekic would need to take 14 points to improve at all, and at least 18 to stay in contention, even though they're only four points off second place currently.

Theoretically An Chang Ok is still in this, but only if she finishes second on vault, which would require Georgieva to win Doha with an unfeasibly high score

Bars is as clear as mud then, especially as the Swedish Olympic committee don't necessarily send everyone who qualifies.

Standings and lowest scores in brackets:

Ryu Sunghyun 80
Yahor Sharamkou 50 (0)
Benjamin Osberger 48 (14)
Eddie Penev 45 (0)
Aurel Benovic 35 (3)
Yuri Guimaraes 25.5 (0)
Diorges Escobar 25 (0)
Clay Mason-Stephens 24 (0)

Ryu Sunghyun qualifies, and the South Korean men reach their maximum three individual spots.

Just looking at the points tally Osberger seems to be in a good position but he has limited room for improvement with scores of 14, 16 and 18. Even if he wins in Doha he'd only have 64 points and be relying on low scores for others.

Samir Ait Said 73 (18) - will guarantee qualification with third in Doha
Nikita Simonov 64 (16) - will guarantee qualification with a win in Doha
Jong Ryong Il 56 (10) - must finish at least 4th in Doha to have a chance
Vahagn Davtyan 45 (0) - must finish at least third in Doha
Artur Avetisyan 38 (0) - must win in Doha
Omar Mohamed 37 (0) - must win in Doha

Even though they can drop this zero, the Armenians are hurt by missing Baku because they couldn't take points off anyone else.

Ait Said can only lose out if Davtyan or Jong wins in Doha with Simonov second and himself fourth or lower, and then it'd go to a tiebreak between Ait Said and Simonov.

(All those placements they need in Doha are of the eligible athletes)
