Remains to be seen, I guess. I don’t think a selection meet in a gym with no audience or cameras is really the Big Meet environment that competitors thrive in either.

I’m elated for Dulcy. I enjoy watching her, and this is such a good example of a sports result actually mattering. I hope she enjoys every minute of her Worlds experience.

I think USAG made a major mistake having so much time in between nationals and team selection. Literally no one except for Caylor looks better, and Caylor at best will not make any EF and will probably rotate with the 2nd group in the AA.
Does she also auto qualify to compete AA in prelims?

I’m wondering if they could split her with Skye for example or worse Brena Dowell her…

She’s

“I know I will never be on Simone’s level,” says with a slight laugh. “But I don’t want to seem like I am so far behind them. I want to not show that I’m tired when the girls that have done my dream are not. I need to show that I am also up there with them as close as I can.”

I'm very moved that she's made this happen for herself. And that she finally hit the amazing middle tumbling pass, and of course stuck her textbook DTY.

I was very shocked by some upgrades and changes from Nationals. Roberson downgrading FX makes sense, but Simone Rose upgraded her opening pass to a whip-double back-punch front, and Hardie completely upgraded her tumbling passes across the board: 2 1/2-front full, front layout-front double full, and double pike I think (or double tuck). Hang also completely switched her passes up and added back the full-in, upgrading her middle pass to a double pike from whip full, and front stepout to double tuck to end. She is so bouncy though and completely ate away the added D score.

Very exciting for Dulcy to have her best meet when it counts. But chaos for selecting a team to win medals.

I'm not convinced by either Cheng but I'm guessing both will go based at the attempt for a vault medal.

I don't know that Dulcy winning is all that much chaos. She was third on bars, third on beam, and tied for first on floor. She very much earned it today. Her reaction afterward was priceless and I love the sportsmanship of her teammates cheering and congratulating her.

Right now that last spot looks like a battle between Sullivan and Hang, but if someone goes lights out tomorrow they could stake a claim to it.

It's not particularly hard to justify in my opinion -- "this gymnast has demonstrated scoring potential throughout the season that puts her routine in medal contention".

You can argue how heavily to weigh her consistency, but that's a justification, and particularly in an individual worlds with no consequence to a team score, I think it's the correct one, because picking another American gymnast who can hit a 13-something beam routine isnt particularly compelling in my opinion. ¯\(ツ)
Agree. It makes more sense in an individual worlds to take a punt on the inconsistent big scorer. That being said, I don't think they'll take Skye if she doesn't hit tomorrow. Not because I don't agree with your logic, but because the US place so much reliance on this one selection event.

I don’t see any ‘someone’ other than Blakely.

Blakely absolutely needs to hit and show at least one routine in 14’s.
