I think it will all depend where the US needs someone for them to be “worthwhile”

At this moment Roberson isn’t since her strongest events are what the team is strongest act and her weakest two are where the team has less depth.

I don’t think Roberson would go in front of Chiles, Blakely, or Carey at the moment, especially given how much experience the others have, plus more usable events. Technically Roberson could do beam, but you wouldn’t want to. Jade could do bars if it was a dire situation, but Roberson is not an option really.

She’s drastically improved since a year ago even, so if 2024 is not her time 2028 could well be, though I suspect that many who go for 2024 will also try for 2028 since it is in the USA.
Chiles especially given she’s a UCLA Bruin.

I don’t think the US has ever had that many world medalists in the line up on any event before?
This has actually already happened: 1996 Olympics, Balance Beam with Dawes (1993 and 1996), Miller (1994), and Moceanu (1995).

I think the 1996 Olympic team may have also had the most world finalists on a single event with five on uneven bars: Borden (1994), Dawes (1993, 1994, and 1996), Miller (1991, 1993, and 1995), Phelps (1995 and 1996), and Strug (1992).

And then Amy Chow is the one who walks away with an Olympic medal!

My dream for Paris
VT: (Gabby) Shilese, Jordan, Simone
UB: (Simone) Gabby, Suni, Shilese
BB: Gabby, Suni, Simone (Shilese)
FX: (Gabby/Suni) Shilese, Jordan, Simone
I don’t want on bench anyone on this team on any event. Skye, Trinity, and Jade would be my alternates

Biles Carey Chiles would also be three FX world medalists. If Biles, Jones, and Lee make the world team that would be three bars medalists.

Lee is a FX medalist too, so they might have four on the team.

In 2007 the team had Shawn, Nastia, and Alicia who all were floor medalists by the end of the meet, and double floor medalists by the end of the quad, but we didn’t have that same version of Nastia.

Tokyo had 3 vault medalists who ended up contributing a total of one 1.5TY with a fall. Obviously a totally different situation but sort of entertaining as a stat.

This is pretty much my top team as well. There’s really no weak event here. The hard part is choosing who gets to do AA in qualifications to attempt to qualify as the second AAer. That could resolve itself if Gabby and/or Suni choose to be primarily UB/BB specialists but jump in on VT or FX when needed.

There was a question on Gymcastic asking which was the most difficult team to make in terms of most depth/ world and Olympic medalists.

In 2024
Biles, Blakely, Carey, Chiles, DiCello, (Douglas), Jones, Lee, Wong =8/9
In 2004
Bhardwaj, Heenan, Humphrey, Kupets, Memmel, Patterson, Schwikert, Vise, Yim= 9

However, 2004 were mostly from team medals, with half also having an individual medal.
2024, while also team medalists, all but one have individual medals.

Sheehan and Hatch as well, though Hatch’s world medal was competing for Cuba.
Correct about both. I totally missed Hatch’s medal from Cuba.

I didn’t include Sheehan initially because she didn’t get invited to selection camp. But now that I think of I don’t think Heenan was invited to camp, but she attended anyway (as cheerleader). I recall Heenan being in the group shot. Also Yim was invited to selection but ultimately withdrew due to injury.
