A huge boost of confidence for Roberson after her great world cup performance. Her 13.733 beam and 14.067 floor are huge. It’s a shame that Sumanasekera’s beam and floor were not shown.

do we have individual scores anywhere

Roberson has been getting into her floor choreo more than before. At this point I might prefer her to Carey. I can’t unsee Carey’s built in .3 deductions on her vault block (.3 for leg separation, .3 for bent arm, .3 for shoulder angle) but the judges simply aren’t taking it

I don’t think Roberson will be able to get past Carey to make the team. There really is not room for both gymnasts.
Roberson might make alternate or more likely be named to Pan Am Games.
Honestly think that the Pan Am Championships team is likely to be the Pan Am Games team, maybe minus one or two members.

IMO the best of anyone from this group to make it to Worlds would be Sumansekera.

Roberson isn’t even a good alternate option. You want someone who can fill in anywhere, which Roberson can’t.

I’ll be VERY interested yo see how her scores stack up against the “A” team gymnasts at Classics and Nationals. She’s certainly capitalized on the opportunity, but I don’t see her in the running for worlds unless one of Carey and Chiles goes down with injury.

Tiana is the only one from Pan Ams that has the potential to force her way into the worlds conversation, imo.

Based on last world selection, Roberson has a decent shot for being at least an alternate. Her performance in Pan-Am and World Cup consolidated her case like Zeiss last year, not to mention her two vaults. With Miller out, there are no bars specialists (6+D) left to join Lee and Jones. So it comes down to a beam spot which she can still fight for and make beam consistency as her case.

Blakely’s bar upgrades, if consistent, and performing beam without a hair ribbon (curse you ribbbbbon!) is the most likely 5th member to compliment Carey. She can be used on vault and floor if need be makes her valuable as well.

Lee, Jones, Chiles, Carey, Blakely is the obvious top tier team. At least as of right now. Wong and DiCello make sense for alternates, but Sumansekera and Roberson are also in that mix, neither are usable on bars which hurts their cause. Of course we don’t know what McClain will look like either.

Zeiss put herself in position last year by being a consistent all arounder, capable of filling in on all events. Which…doesn’t describe Roberson.

Roberson is not Sacramone version 2.0, no matter how hard people wish that the case. Sac was the clear best vaulter in the US, and was world/Olympic EF caliber on beam and floor.

Chiles, Lee, Jones can hit 14 range. Beam however is still an open spot.

VT: (Lee) Chiles, Jones, Carey
UB: (Blakely) Chiles, Jones, Lee
BB: (Jones/Chiles) Jones/Chiles, Lee, Blakely
FX: (Lee) Jones, Chiles, Carey

Of course all depends if Suni is aiming for AA this year or simply for bars and beam with clean VT/FX, she could be the UB/BB specialist. All depends on her health also.

Suni has shown some interesting stuff but we need to see her back in elite in time for worlds first. I certainly think she’ll be in contention for Paris, and in a strong position to make the team, but this year is more up in the air.

For me there is no question that Suni is going to Worlds this year at minimum bars and beam.

USAG put up Wong on bars in TF after not going in TQ and also had Carey do beam in TF.

Lee is practically a lock IMO.

She’s a lock if she has elite level routines ready. We don’t know that she does, nor the impact of the issues that saw her having to end her NCAA season early. If she’d come off the back of a couple of individual titles at NCAA, I’d say absolutely. But a lot of question marks for me and it might be a smarter move not to rush back for worlds.
