I can’t remember, but what ever happened to OOBN’s webmaster Skitch (Scott J Einuis)?

Wasn't he one of the photographers for Inside Gymnastics magazine?

ETA: he's not listed as one of their photographers in the last two issues so I guess not anymore.

Was it USA Gymnastics magazine?

Character is one way of describing him
Was that the precursor of GGMB? I was on that (as a lurker) for years and then was suddenly banned. Maybe my lurkingness cost me the ban? Anyway, Gymnaverse is a MUCH better place. People as knowledgeable and no pornographic images and posts.

I don’t believe that OOBN had anything to do with GGMB, other than there being a crossover of users.

GGMB was the result of gym fans fighting with Venassa Atler’s Mom and brother. I don’t remember what platform the fighting and threats of calling the police and suing took place on but it could have been OOBN.

I remember the NBC forum in 2000. It was the second forum i discovered. Later I did an internet search (pre-google) and found an early version of ggmb. Something like a pro boards or ezboard set up.

LOL. I'm going to move these posts into a different thread so we can discuss more without hijacking this one.

I was also on the American Gymnast message board run by Jay Thornton and Steve McCain following Sydney Olympics.

I can’t remember how many iterations there were of ggmb. OOBN only had the one. AOL is a thing of the past and NBC dropped theirs immediately. I think there was a board run by Craig (RIP) for talking about gymnastics forums and fans.

Also Gymworld, which was brought down because of the "Dina" (I think that's the name) scandal. I liked that one for the international posters.
Also the All Around Forum which was run by I think, Albert.

GGMB turned into Gymscoop after the Abomb, Betty had a falling out with Doc.

Gymscoop didn't last two long, maybe 4 years? Abomb and Betty were pretty toxic and banned many people for simply disagreeing. I remember I said something positive about Amelia Hundley, Betty changed by handle to Meals for Meals and my icon was changed to a picture of a meals on wheels van. God forbid you say something nice about one of their non-favorites. I simply complimented Hundley for her 2015 Pan American performance.

I never was part of AOL, but I was on an email listserve, which is how I found oobness. Also I remember GGMB banning lurkers; I was scared it would happen to me, but I posted barely enough.

Glad this is in a new thread now. I kept wanting to chime in but not wanting to spam the Olympics thread. I was one of the rare few never to be banned from GGMB/Gymscoop. I never participated in the drama. I just sat back and watched the shitshow. I was sad when it went away because it always felt like one big extremely dysfunctional family to me.
