I guess her mum should have thought about that part ...Agreed. Has nothing to do with OU or Lily.
well they need to be more precise with their wording then! However making a big thing of it annoys me. There are plenty of mums on the international scene. Chuso anyone? Musty? Marta Pihan? Just make it a normal thing.Maybe by “elite” they mean internationally. I forget if Lisa made it past British/English Champs.
It's like reporters haven't moved on from gymnasts being 14-year olds ... like all of that stuff about Simone being "old" in 2024well they need to be more precise with their wording then! They really don't, "elite" has a precise meaning in gymnastics but this is a BBC piece aimed at the general public for whom gymnastics occurs once every four years and "elite" simply means "the very best".well they need to be more precise with their wording then!
In fairness, the shift towards WAG gymnasts lasting into their late 20s and beyond is a pretty big shift and a recent one. It does take time for people to adjust to a change like that in a sport. And Chuso is hardly the norm -- nor will she ever be.It's like reporters haven't moved on from gymnasts being 14-year olds ... like all of that stuff about Simone being "old" in 2024

At a certain age a decade is a short period of time to get used to changes. . . .and also you are correct -- its much less than that in the U.S. To me it feels very very recent. It seems like people competing in the mid-late 20s and even medalling has been around for a decade at least, in Europe, although perhaps not in the US. Tweddle, Wevers, Ferrari, Ponor etc
Although I agree that Chuso is unique
