well they need to be more precise with their wording then! However making a big thing of it annoys me. There are plenty of mums on the international scene. Chuso anyone? Musty? Marta Pihan? Just make it a normal thing.

They really don't, "elite" has a precise meaning in gymnastics but this is a BBC piece aimed at the general public for whom gymnastics occurs once every four years and "elite" simply means "the very best".
