I will delete. Did not realize I was implying the entire tourism industry of a nation should be destroyed.
What about Romania’s tourist resorts on the Black Sea? Romania has nothing to do with what’s happening in Ukraine right next door. Are people still allowed to enjoy themselves in Constanta? If there is a safety element involved then sure, we might say it’s irresponsible. But I’m not aware of any country advising its citizens against travel to Egypt.

I’m not sure what this has to do with gymnastics really. Yes 2 of the people in the photo are well known gymnasts, but for these purposes that’s irrelevant.

For what it’s worth i do find it a little tone deaf. Do it, by all means, they probably booked this ages ago, but i don’t know that I’d post that.

And i think you can’t quite say Egypt has no role to play in this whole fiasco, but that’s another, longer conversation

New podcast by Heath Thorpe.

Is he still in the hunt for an Olympics spot or do we think the Australian fed will block him (or choose someone else if they already have a spot)? I ask cuz i wouldn’t want a podcast to distract him from his goal.

there is an AA spot at 2024 Oceania championships. Let hope he can do AA there.

Heath needs to win 2024 national AA to secure that I think. Otherwise I can see GymAus blocking him.

I suspect they’ll do everything in their power to keep Thorpe from competing AA at the Oceania Championships. They’ve already repeatedly demonstrated they don’t want him representing Australia at worlds. The fact that he went public with that? He dropped a metric ton of napalm on his Olympic chances.

Even if Thorpe went to Oceania Championships, he would have to finish ahead of New Zealand’s Mikhail Koudinov there. Koudinov scored 80.766 at Oceania last year to Thorpe’s 78.299 at AUS Nats.

So far this quad Koudinov won the 2021 Oceania Champs, was 2nd to Jesse Moore in 2022, then won gold again in 2023.

I’d say New Zealand is the favorite for the Oceania spot, not anyone from Australia.

An interview with Oleg Verniaiev about him learning Ukrainian.

Hmm the narrative of that interview is weird. Where he is from, Donetsk, I don’t think has ever been Ukrainian speaking at any point in history.

Gabby is going to be in the mix. Floor could be a question though.

Maybe 1 1/2 stepout to double tuck, ADF-stag, full in, double pike.

What if she did a 3 pass routine? Does she have (historically) enough/good enough dance elements to make up the D score with out bombing the E?

How much does she need floor?
If she is making a run at an AA spot… of course we don’t really know how her training is going and if everything is coming back with ease, but if i were her, I’d be looking for UB and BB sets that destroy everyone else and an FX and VT that could be used in an emergency. Unless she thinks she can outscore Shi, in which case, go get it Gabrielle.

We spoke about this recently, but I can’t find the posts.

This is the Russian coach I was talking about who can spot each skill in a tumble run. I’ve seen him spot bars too and he is the same
He is incredible.
