Boy will I be interested to see Roberson at Nationals because I can’t figure out how the shit that fucking routine on bars scores a 7.5. If she’s the second coming of Aly Raisman swear to God I am D-O-N-E with the fucking sport.

Um… am I the only one completely blown away by these Simone scores and D scores? Even for her, the fact that the YDP is already ready is insane. I wonder how long she has been training.

Roberson will not be getting those scores once she is in front of a strong panel. Her World Cup scores are not representative for what she will get at Worlds/Olympics. Those World Cup panels are not strong - if USAG wants to know if she is actually usable they need to invite a TC member or take her to Worlds.

In regards to Simone: She has always stayed in shape and has been training seriously for quite some time. Her “comeback” (I wouldn’t call it that) was the worst kept secret in the gymnastics community. The fact that it didn’t find its way onto the boards until Sacramone’s husband spoke about it, speaks for the integrity of the gym community. There were no instructions not to talk about it but I guess everyone realised it was her news to tell.

Kudos to her team mates at WCC. There are quite a lot of them now, mostly teenage girls active on social media. None of them posted anything.

Everyone was also nicely keeping quiet about Gabby’s peogress. I’m glad the other gymnasts (and their families) weren’t making them have to train at 2 am to avoid the attention.

I get what you mean, but I think that integrity is not the only reason. There are other reasons why people might not share that Biles was working toward 2024 in a public way.

Maybe some people might have a little fear that being a big mouth might come back to bite them in the butt, but I think it’s more likely that people don’t want to be perceived as doing something bad to a fellow gymnast, and maybe the fact that she is who she is adds a level-up to that.

That’s all true, I am sure. And I am saying there are probably also other, less honorable reasons at play for some of the people. After all, it just takes one big mouth and not everyone is so honorable.

Crazy to think how great Gabby’s AA record is at Worlds/Olympics.

2011 - 5th AA prelims, 2perd
2012 - Gold
2015 - Silver
2016 - 3rd AA prelims, 2perd

Other than Simone, does anyone else have such a consistent record? Perhaps Shannon, perhaps Aly. Ish.

She’s really one of the best AA gymnasts the US has ever produced.
