As the focus turns to Paris 2024, Tracy Whittaker-Smith, Performance Director (Olympic Disciplines), and Scott Hann, Technical Advisor, will use their wealth of experience and expertise to lead the team into the Games. Announcements on the selected coaching team for the Games will be made in conjunction with Team GB in the coming months.
If he was jumping before pushed, would BG issue a statement celebrating his achievements? If it's related to the events of the last few days he might just be jumping before he could be pushed for doing a bad job. If the team do not repeat their performances from Tokyo or Liverpool, then ultimately as head coach that is his responsibility. He has really already failed by not getting anywhere near the strongest team to Paris. Especially if it was a team strategy to push upgrades which may have contributed to the injuries. And if it is something he is responsible for that has put Morgan off.
If they didn't want him airing dirty laundry, probably. If he was jumping before pushed, would BG issue a statement celebrating his achievements?
He has been on "unspecified leave" since just after the British in March. So hasn't been involved at all in the run up to Euros. I'm sure there is a tale to tell somewhere in that but I have no idea what at this point. Very odd time to go.Wow. Quitting so close to the Olympics is one thing, but quitting when he’s presumably actually at euros?!?!
The management situation might be Russia 2012, but GB basically have Komova, Mustafina and Grishina (sorry Jen) injured, Afanasyeva is giving interviews to the national press saying how she almost quit and Nabieva has told everyone to f*ck off, probably going to convert to Mormonism and end up with 6 kids and a husband called GunnerDespite everything, GB do have a good chance of winning multiple medals here. For all that this is clearly an ongoing fiasco, it could be like a Russia 2012 situation where there are clearly problems but in a way that doesn't prevent quite a bit of hardware.
So maybe it was important to get him out of the way now, before any success this week shores up his position.
Think of how many situations that have occurred recently where the public statement pushed the, "We want to thank them for all of their contributions and we wish them luck with their future plans." narrative only to have the skeletons jump out of the closet performing to Danse Macabre after the fact.If he was jumping before pushed, would BG issue a statement celebrating his achievements?
Nothing would fill my soul more than a reality series documenting Nabieva’s transition to Mormonism. The management situation might be Russia 2012, but GB basically have Komova, Mustafina and Grishina (sorry Jen) injured, Afanasyeva is giving interviews to the national press saying how she almost quit and Nabieva has told everyone to f*ck off, probably going to convert to Mormonism and end up with 6 kids and a husband called Gunner
Amelies mum is saying on twitter that she liked David and he's not the reason she's retired.
Yes, I'm not suggesting she's an arbiter of good coaching taste!Yes, but Amelie also liked Tom Farden
