This is her point of greatest contact. I feel like it's enough to avoid the penalty, but... It's weird that someone (other than Skinner) would want to vault this way, and she's not getting the repulsion she should be able to get were she pushing and setting here. (The way, for example, that Andrade or Biles does, with Andrade being the best ever...)

I'll be very interested to see what events people are asked to competed today, and how they do. Since Caylor is locked in, and barring a disaster, Wong and Roberson are going, there's only one spot available.

If Blakely can hit bars lights out, I think she goes, but just for bars. Caylor and Wong for AA, and Roberson for VT, BB, and FX.

If Blakely is once again struggling, you could take Hang for VT, Caylor for UB, BB, and FX, and Wong and Roberson for AA.

I'd be tempted to take Hardie for FX, except I can't make it work with a team where Caylor, Wong, and Roberson are also going. Unless you sit Caylor, but if she's finally consistently hitting that floor routine, you want her to compete.

It's possible that Wong and Caylor get AA and Roberson gets VT/FX with Sullivan in UB/BB if Blakely doesn't hit. She has the highest UB score day one and also has been solid on beam all year long. Sullivan also scored higher than Hang in the AA.

Taking Hang for VT alone is sort of irrelevant. With Wong and Roberson on the team, Hang is going to get 2 per'd and also I worry about that Lopez being downgraded.

I think if Blakely hits bars she will be named to the team and also get to beam.

it does seem most likely that its between hang and blakely for the final spot. Sullivan has an outside shot but more likely that she'll get an alternate spot. Whoever gets named, my best guess is that they're not going to assign whose doing what events/the AA until after podium training. There isn't a whole lot that's separating this group and I'd want to see how they're doing in the workouts leading up to worlds and in podium training.

I don't particularly want to see her heinous Onodi any more than I have to, but Roberson consistently does better on beam than Sullivan.

Same. I don't see the point in taking Skye just for bars, as she's not likely to contend. Strikes me as one of those situations where there's no point in half measures. Either take her for high scoring potential and embrace both the risks and potential benefits fully, or require more than 1 hit routine out of 4 at selection time and leave her.
