Simone didn't look like she had any intention of trying to stick either vault there. Bound back, take the landing deductions, protect the ankles. Wise.

I think she intentionally fell to her knees when she was short on her warm up YDP. Much easier to intentionally fall than try to crunch the ankles to stand up.
