The 2007 Worlds PT or Qualifications leo was one of my favorites. I'm sad we never saw it again.

Yes! Thank you for remembering when it was. The PT one was the light blue. Love it.

The colors of the leotards have been seriously gorgeous this weekend. Not so much into the styles, but the purples and blues and teals are lovely. Love Jade's blue.

I actually quite like that WCC leo, aside from the collar. Those high necklines just look so uncomfortable to me.

Sometime in the late '90s or early '00s, the US women were sponsored by Adidas and those were some of my favorites. I remember one that was a light shade of blue and it was really simple and athletic, but still feminine. The old School classic 3 Stripe Adidas leos have always been my favorites.

Adidas designed the leos for the first couple of years (1998-2000, IIRC), then turned over responsibility for the design and manufacturing to GK. Sometimes they would absolutely knock it out of the park and have absolutely stunning leos, and sometimes they were complete disasters.

I hate that none of the leo manufacturers carry simple, sporty leos these days. Even if you don't bedazzle the heck out of them, every leo design is so busy. Ombre! Sublimated design! Mesh cutouts! Six gazillion different fabrics and cut lines! There's a more more more attitude when it comes to designing leos these days and I'm just so over it.

Even Jade's Leo, which looks fairly simply, has so much going on. It looks like a basic raglan sleeve design. But then there's a mesh belt cutout. And then within the mesh melt cutout are smaller fabric belts (with rhinestones, of course) that get wider in the front. Why? And who even knows what sort of craziness is hiding on the back.

If my kid went to WCC and they told me I had to shell out for two completely different warmup jackets for two different nights of the same competition on top of the hundreds spent on the leotards I'd be so mad.

In 2022, Tampa busted out the big guns for the anthem on both nights of senior women. Night 1 the Lightning organist did it, night 2 their regular anthem singer did, and she has a gorgeous voice.

Funny that Jordan paired the over the top jacket with quite a restrained leo. It looks really nice on her.

ETA: despite the fussy back, I really like Simone's. The colour works super well on her.
