Here are my wild predictions!!!
I think DiCello will qualify to AA in 5th and then is going to hit 4 for 4 in the final while others struggle and become All Around champion.
Wong will win FX after sticking every single pass. This will be a redemption for her because she was in 1st place in the AA final going into FX where she ends up crashing her 2 1/2 front full.=, she did end up 5th AA.
Frazier will show up with a second vault and make vault finals but finish out of the medals. She will make floor finals after an OOB from DiCello in qualifications lets her in she will finish 7th or 8th.
McClain will fall off beam in qualifications to qualify in 8th. Wong will qualify 2nd. In finals McClain will hit and take silver. Wong will fall three times in final.
DiCello will make bars finals and place 6th-8th.
Melnikova will fall off beam in AA finals after qualifying in 1st and end up 7th. She will win vault silver, bars gold, and floor bronze.
Urasova does not do all around in qualifications, so her teammate Minaeva can try. Minaeva will have issues on several events finishing 16-18th. Unfortunately she makes no finals. Urasova capitalizes as a bars specialist with the bronze but that was controversial due to WXY’s suspect score.
Vorona makes balance beam and floor exercise finals, cementing her probable role as a 2022 World Team member. She takes a few balance checks to finish 6th on beam and while clean on floor does not have the D score to place higher than 5th.
Downie will win qualifications on bars and then finish 4th after a few minor breaks on bars. She will qualify to beam where she also finishes 4th. Her bars ranking will be a controversial finish and most of us will argue she was the rightful bronze medalist.
Andrade will be leading the AA after two but will fall from beam and then finish strong on floor to take all around bronze. She also takes the bronze after a stumble on her Cheng. Her DTY goes 9.600 for E score, the highest e score of the games. Unfortunately on beam she misses connections and an easy medal for her will end up 5th. She stays in bounds during FX finals but finishes 2nd behind Wong.
Murakami Mai will win silver AA in front of a home crowd she will just barely sneak ahead of Andrade. She will then finish 4th on floor after an OOB ND causes Melnikova to slip ahead, originally tied in score the ND was the difference spoiling a repeat of the Olympics.
Georgia Mae Fenton surprises everyone with a 4 for 4 finish to take 4th in the AA. She makes bars finals but finishes 6-8.
China is up and down.
Wei Xiaoyuan is solid and uses strong bars to finish 6th all around. Weak vaulting hurts her medal chances. She will look like bars gold until she has a huge issue with her dismount and ends up silver. This will be contested by gymn fans who thought she should have been out of the medals, with Urasova (the bronze medalist) bumped to silver and Downie (4th) into 3rd.
Qi Qi will make vault and floor but be in 6th on vault and either 7th or 8th on floor. Luo Rui will finish 5th on bars.
Li Shijia wins balance beam and is overly emotional with gold having come back from injury that destroyed her Olympic dream. The emotions after her win will be talked about for decades after her win, similar to Khorkina’s reaction to all around gold in 1997 in Lausanne. No other Chinese will qualify to finals there after having issues in qualifications.
Hungary has two finalists Bacskay on vault and Kovacs on bars. Ultimately they performed well but did not have the difficulty to make a medals run.
In history making, Coline Devillard shocks the World to win vault and become France’s first ever World Champion. Two clean vaults sneak past Melnikova and Andrade who stumbles on her Cheng.
Slovenia also has its first event finalist in Tjaša Kysselef, but her vaults do not have the start value necessary to contend.
