What discussions / previews / etc. would people like leading into the Olympics?

A dedicated section for just the 2020 Olympics would be nice. I’d enjoy some threads for other sports that are happening. Obviously discussion should focus on gymnastics, but we should allow some digression to other sports in between being emotionally destroyed by shocking gymnastics events’ results.

I’ve always appreciated people posting international feeds and alternate broadcasts. Gives nice variety.

I wish we had a thread for useful links maybe without commentary so the links don’t get buried. Who are the people on the internet live blogging or tracking D-score/E-score or highest scores of the year? Where do you click for live scores? It would be great to have the wwgym judging spreadsheets pinned in a handy location for quick reference.

I have started some threads already and locked them up so they don’t get bogged down with too much before the games begin. I will finish the threads this coming week. Trampoline and Rhythmic are quick and easy so I did those first.

I kept one thread for MAG qualifying and I will do separate threads for each WAG subdivision.

According to my notes that is what I did for London and also Rio. The WAG subdivisions generate more discussion.

Also- opinions… for event finals three separate days with those events orrrrrrrr just do MAG Event Finals and WAG event finals thread. I can’t recall what we did in the past. I think we did Event Finals Day 1 and Day 2 separately.

I’d preference event finals by day with those events–I think it will generate the best live discussion of people commentating while watching, or coming back to it once they’re woken up and had a chance to watch (assuming footage is archived primarily by day and not by event). MAG and WAG separate would probably be cleaner for archival purposes, but facilitating discussion is more important.

I can do MAG Event Finals and then maybe just do separate WAG threads for EF as VT and UB are together but then BB and FX are separate.
I cn also do VT/UB thread and then FX/BB thread.

Let’s do a separate thread for each Event Final for women and one thread for all men’s finals.
