I did not want to post this in the main forum, but I recently got a message from PhotoBucket about restoring an old account that I used almost exclusively to post images to WWGym before the attachments worked. Here's some of them that I thought were kind of funny or interesting.

1) My attempt to explain why everyone felt Nistor looked so sloppy, with Liukin's form as the opposite.

2) Graph of AA scores at some major competition (maybe 2012 Olympics??) showing that bars scores were the most spread out and that vault scores were the least spread out. (And that, surprisingly, beam scores weren't as spread as we might have guessed.) This was to justify that the code favored strong bars workers because you could add or subtract the same amount from any event to "even out the middles" and it would not change the AA ranks.

3) Similar analysis, but with just numbers for a men's competition, justifying that vault scores really needed to be spread out.

4) FIG's response to the data... Was it in 2017? In one Code, they spread out vault scores by requiring two vaults. They gave up on the idea within just a couple months of implementation due to the confusion. I do think that they made it harder than needed and had a counter-proposal. I still would like to see this for both MAG and WAG.

My preferred approach — vault values already cut in half, but also a bonus for how different the vaults were (different block positions + twisting vs. double flipping)

5) I renormed all-around scores from 2010 Worlds to a 10.0 scale to show that we CAN still have the 10.0 and it does make scores easier to look at. I rounded a lot. We STILL COULD do this.

6) A vault I don't think we've ever seen from back when the COP used to include theoretical skills.

7) Two scoring proposals I made years ago that, many years later, have happened. The averaging thing is done at certain competitions and really should be more widespread... I am sick of this 0.333 crap.
The dismount thing is more or less what MAG will start doing in January.

Bonus — not related to scoring... Rocky Parker used to love drawing skills, and was very good at it. He made this one for me — it's a roundoff, half-on, double front half out. Nobody's done that yet, still. Maybe some day? I just put this up on Facebook as my banner image. It's still one of the most creative gifts anyone ever gave me and I treasure it.

I'm in the same position as Matilda23 regarding the attachments.

What a fascinating time capsule.

Hooray for point 7, I'm interested to see what will happen to dismounts next year. I wholeheartedly agree about the 0.333s.

Are the images all showing now?

The last one passed the limit (10 attachments). Here it is.

BTW, I tried to include a variety of images lest I bore people. :-)
