The men got all the fun cheesy stuff. Women got he horror/warning tales. Nothing but anorexia and over-training for us girls. Until recent movies like Stick It and Full Out.

But on a more serious note, I was interested to see how they’d portray the Karolyis and even more problematic, LN, who was pretty key to the whole visual of Strung’s iconic moment.

To be fair I felt MBB to be too old for the role (and if I'm honest not the right build) The role really needed a 'real' teenager'.

No. If gymnastics had someone like Tonya Harding, there might be something to work with.

I mean, I would still love a movie about the Mag 7 because it was the first time the women won, but it seems like it would be extraordinarily hard to get right.

No. If gymnastics had someone like Tonya Harding, there might be something to work with.

It probably does, somewhere, she just hasn’t had her “Nancy Kerrigan and a crowbar” moment just yet so we haven’t noticed.

If they were going to do anything with Mag 7 they should just make it a documentary. Take previous footage and add current interviews with the Mag 7.

Wow! It will be 30 years THIS July. I can remember it vividly, watching it "LIVE". Didn't have social media or internet to spoil the results. I didn't even get a home computer until 1998.
