Katelyn Jong announced she is moving on from elite to focus on college gymnastics at Auburn.

I'll be very interested to see what OU can do with her. Her form leaves a lot to be desired, but she certainly has skills to choose from.

I dont see her competing AA but likely bars and fx, maybe vault depending on how a y1.5 goes for her. If anyone can clean up form, it's KJ so will be interesting to see how long that takes.

I think Fatta is going to be a stand out, especially once she drops a lot of the elite skills that were the issue for form breaks. Skinner cleaned up a lot in NCAA for the same reason, then once she returned to elite, the form issues became more apparent.

Its sad but it makes sense. Lexi was not going to go to Paris and she might as well focus on healing and then having a great NCAA at LSU

She was already planning to enter LSU in the fall. It's not like she's spending next year as a level 10.

I guess it must feel nice to have the closure of a retirement post, and some were obviously hoping to make it to Trials, but it still feels odd when we already knew they were moving on to NCAA. Maybe now because so many elites also do NCAA it's really a "I'm off to college and also not going to continue training elite skills" announcement...

That is exactly how I took it. She needed the closure.
