Look, I know from my own work that Romani Gypsies are extremely discriminated against in Romania to the point of serious persecution. And that includes well documented police violence against Roma. So I don't think people need to be misfed distorted truths on the internet by algorithms to likely very correctly believe there is a serious racism problem over there. But none of this is the issue here is it? This is about who rightfully won Bronze in FX at the Olympics. Thats it.No, I believe you probably don't know "Romanian social media" and feel whatever you were fed by your algorithm is the truth. No biggie.
Social media is A CESSPOOL. It doesn't usually translate to a country, SPECIALLY sport fansIt was legitimately terrible on social media. I couldn’t believe it.
Racism is Romania is very different to racism in America. Both are very racist placesThe black Americans that play basketball in Romania say they feel safer here than in the USA Nobody has guns here, and the joke is that even cops don't know how to use them
correctRacism is Romania is very different to racism in America. Both are very racist places
What about them just skipping over Leanne Wong when Josc was out of the vault final at worlds? And then they were all ‘Okay, we’ll LET her compete?’ when it was rightly her spot? FIG incompetence affects us all lol.The fact that this is your best example of the mistreatment of the us athletes kind of is relevant tho
Most relevant is, why can't I dm you? @Doug1233
The Romanian Prime Minister, who inserted himself into the conversation, and many in the Romanian gymnastics delegation who have have made anti-American comments all week, have contributed to the tone of the discourse, and did not call for their fans to be respectful. How isn’t this xenophobia? I’m pretty sure that the entire country of Romania isn’t responsible for what a few of its media s
What did they say that’s anti American? And how does it make it ok for you to be anti Romanian? The Romanian Prime Minister, who inserted himself into the conversation, and many in the Romanian gymnastics delegation who have have made anti-American comments all week, have contributed to the tone of the discourse, and did not call for their fans to be respectful.
So no, there's no need for USA Gymnastics and Chiles to hold a joint press conference and give a larger platform to those who were complacent in a very racist and anti-American public discourse.
Saying that a joint press conference is not a good move for the U.S. delegation makes me anti-Romanian? If that's your opinion then that's your opinion; that's an opinion that has no bearing on me.What did they say that’s anti American? And how does it make it ok for you to be anti Romanian?
Melnikova is the bronze medalistShe, along with Gadirovas knee need to take full responsibility for what they’ve done.
I’m asking what you think Romania has said that has been anti AmericanSaying that a joint press conference is not a good move for the U.S. delegation makes me anti-Romanian? If that's your opinion then that's your opinion; that's an opinion that has no bearing on me.
There was no Romanian official who made any anti American comment. That guy is delusional. On social media you get a distorted view of reality. The PM said those comments because we have an election at the end of the year and he wants to run for president. It was just politics.I’m asking what you think Romania has said that has been anti American
Romania is a strong ally of the U.S. and its pretty silly for anyone to claim that there is strong anti-U.S. animus in Romania on either an official or unofficial level. But racism is for sure a problem.I’m asking what you think Romania has said that has been anti American
So the only difference is that you don't have the means to immediately kill somebody. That's not exactly a flex. The black Americans that play basketball in Romania say they feel safer here than in the USA Nobody has guns here, and the joke is that even cops don't know how to use them
