Nooo, tired of Simone going nuclear.Tired of a year old post?
Also, can we admit floor music is highly personal? Some is like nails on a chalkboard but the gymnast must like it enough to hear it every day. Even your favorite fx ever, you'll find someone who hated the music, thought it was background noise, or didn't fit the dance or whatever. And, Simone's music was hardly the "worst."
It’s really not the same thing. Simone has a team of media professionals advising her and people whose job is to protect and promote her brand and image. Simone should be more professionalI’ll still take petty and nuclear Simone over self-righteous Skinner any day!
I think you are vastly overestimating Skinner’s reach and influence. Especially within the gymnastics world where she has absolutely burned her bridges regarding any sort of role going forward. Don’t forget she was previously at nationals working with John R.Simone is imperfect for sure. She’s unapologetic about her opinions and because of that she draws a lot of criticism. She doesn’t turn her personal opinions over to her team. I’d just rather see “influencer” Skinner STFU. I wish she have a team to speak for her. It’s crazy how a little blonde hair and blue eyes goes so far.
"No one caresssss" feels pretty mild from what I've seen of social media.Nooo, tired of Simone going nuclear.
Exactly. The fact that Simone receives a lot of online hate doesn’t mean it’s ok for her to behave like a high schooler towards someone posting a perfectly fair critique.Nooon caressssssssssss
I mean if anything Simone was asking for it, who tf talks back to a judge on Twitter critiquing their routines casually?
At least for me, it's not about that comment itself. It's the action of inviting thousands of hate comments onto a viewer for a mild comment about the routine they were watching."No one caresssss" feels pretty mild from what I've seen of social media.
Look, I don't think Simone and I would be friends in real life and she ain'tpaying me to leap to her defense, but this is absolute weaksauce compared to the vile hate that gets heaped on her. I'm giving her a pass on this one.
Agree. In any walk of life (politics, entertainment, sport, whatever) people with zillions of followers and a huge level of influence really should avoid dunking on normal members of the public unless they're being actively abusive (which was clearly not the case here). Doing so is simply inviting the mob to abuse them and is quite irresponsible. At least for me, it's not about that comment itself. It's the action of inviting thousands of hate comments onto a viewer for a mild comment about the routine they were watching.
Everyone feel free to come back and laugh at me if this prediction is completely wrong, but I get the impression Simone's social media will be much more considered and controlled going forward, after last month's shenanigans. It's just unfortunate for her that she ended up learning that lesson the hard way.She knows her power and needs to rein it in. She’s not a teenager anymore.
I think it’s going to be either one way or the other. Either she matures and realises having control of her public profiles is not a good idea. Or she doesn’t, and she ends up trashing her own brand and reputation over the next new years.Everyone feel free to come back and laugh at me if this prediction is completely wrong, but I get the impression Simone's social media will be much more considered and controlled going forward, after last month's shenanigans. Very good pointYes, she’s been an adult for quite a few years now, but she was still inhabiting the same sphere she’d been in since she was a teenager
