I may not care all that much for KJ Kindler's choreo, but I can respect the attention to detail and the amount of work that goes into choreographing every second of a routine.

It's such a stark difference when compared to the absolute amateur hour garbage other teams like Alabama subject us to.
Yes! I like most of it, but it is heads and shoulders above many basic teams. Alabama is always lame.

That UB score for Alyssa Arana was too high. Thankfully, that didn't make a difference.

I'm not surprised by Florida. They do well overall every season, but they have had enough subpar postseason outings that it has become a pattern, especially since it has been a decade since their last NCAA title.

Rhonda left a curse behind?

I don't get the gymternet hate for OU choreography. I think it's some of the best in the NCAA - which admittedly is not a high bar, but I don't understand why they get singled out the way they do.
I think this a bit more complicated than it seems on the surface. Probably the biggest pool of haters are people who just abhor a dynasty when it’s not their team. So Patriots, Alabama football- that kind of deal. The dynasty haters loudly bandwagon with whatever other people are criticizing- in this case the choreography.

There are new to NCAA fans who just think OU choreography is weird and at times actually off-putting. But these folks think most NCAA choreography is terrible. I think at this point, scoring is the bigger issue for them, so choreography comes in as a secondary issue to criticize.

Then, there’s some of us who loved KJs choreography circa 2012-2017. This was Holly Vise, Laura Albright, Chayse Capps, Haley Scaman, Natalie Brown, AJ Jackson, and the beginning years of Maggie Nichols and Brenna Dowell.

Think a wide range of music genres for the gymnasts, but none of the “let’s cut 4 songs together” prevalent in college gymnastics. In that sense, it was a similar mindset to Val Kondos at UCLA in the 90’s.

Those routines are just completely superior to what she’s been doing in the 2020’s, IMO. I have no idea why the Ragan Smith years looked like that for choreography for the whole team.

This season does have 2 routines that finally point back to how she excelled as a choreographer IMO.

Rhonda left a curse behind?
Technically every legends team has the curse. No team has ever one a National championship after that coach has left.

Bama, Florida, UCLA, Utah, Georgia
Bama hasn't won since Sarah retired.
Georgia hasn't won since Suzanne retired.
Florida hasn't won since Rhonda resigned.
Utah hasn't won since Greg retired.
UCLA hasn't won since Val retired.
