here os Japan’s leotards

The bra issue isn’t the big deal some of you seem to think it is. For one, it’s very rare in elite gymnastics that anyone would be more than a B cup, even the older gymnasts. Secondly, these are made to measure leotards, they are designed to fit and support each individual athlete so that no additional underwear is required. The design process and the factors to consider are completely different from designing leotards suitable for wider range of sizes and body types

I’m sorry I respectfully disgree with you totally. A b cup still needs lots of support when running and tumbling and this cannot be provided by the material used in a leotard.

I have held and looked at national leotards and they are not made of anything which could possibly take the place of a bra. And I have never ever heard that they are intended to.

Team GB are specifically providing made to measure support underwear to women for Tokyo. Including for gymnastics.

Why would they do that if the leotards had it built in.

And why would every gymnast wear a bra or sports top under their leos if the support was built in.

Maybe it is something specific to certain countries?

If gymnasts want more support than what their leotards offer, it’s really not difficult to find high quality sports bras that won’t be seen under leotards. Plenty of specialist companies who offer these kind of bespoke products, generally serving professional dancers.

The idea that professional athletes are limited to the off the peg sports bra options aimed at people who do Pilates twice a week is laughable.

Less bling on the leotards will more than cover the cost of a custom sports bra. We’re talking $100-200 it’s not an unaffordable sum.

Plus, as I’ve said, it’s something that won’t be necessary for the major of elite level competitors.

That this is even an issue, is frankly weird.

I’m sorry I still don’t really agree with you. I think the vast majority of Elite level competitors need and wear sports bras under their leotards. I think it is frankly weird and a little creepy that you think they don’t! These are grown women!

The whole american team wore them at trials. Are they not elite?

Or are you saying that they wear them but don’t need to. Which is also frankly weird as it’s their body and if they feel it’s needed then it clearly is. I don’t want to start an arguement so I won’t reply any more but I just don’t understand where you are getting your ideas from. Even an A cup can need support.

I do not like the first one. However the rest are lovely.
