The leo size obsession it starts so young. Sizing up to a child large has this stigma to it. Worse is when you size up to the adult sizes. And good forbid you ever need a size larger than Adult Small.
This reminds of the opposite story about NASA having to rename urinary condom sizes because no astronaut would pick ‘small’.

So sad and damaging that size stigma still exists. It shouldn’t be shameful to wear whatever fits you. I struggled to fit into adult large leotards for trampolining in the last few years (I’m overweight and have a very long body). I treated myself to a custom leotard in 2018 but haven’t been able to wear it because I’ve not bounced since then due to a back injury and the pandemic.

Does everybody feel yes, no, or unsure about the new leotards Florida posted this weekend?

The leo looks better on tv but the bra issue Redbirdie brought up also bothers me.

I think it’s just that the style these days is to have a more revealing cut
I agree but then I feel that there’s a line to be drawn.

I get the feeling it fitted pre-tour but didn’t by the end of tour.

I don’t suppose they get a chance to change costumes midway through

I’ve always said how I wish I didn’t know how successful gymnasts’ wax artists are. Back when Queen Cata was testing the limits of leo stretch to now, it is more info than I want.

I always loved that Kyla felt comfortable enough to wear whatever undergarments she needed, backless leo be damned.

I remember there was a photo of Ivana Hong doing an arabesque on FX and the cut of her leo was such that it was up to her abdominal line. And there was a photo of Shawn Johnson wearing that terrible orange and black mesh leo nightmare and the crotch was very close to being an embarrassing moment that would have made such a picture illegal.

These were the usual sports action photos done during competitions, too. The kind that get published on ESPN and such.

I might buy that if Morgan didn’t consistently wear leos way too small. This was nationals

Yeah there’s no point to using those words except for denigrating someone or something.

So I am going to suggest that we return to topic, which is gymnast social media.

We did drive off topic, partly do to my post saying certain offensive words shouldn’t be said by anyone, regardless of changing the pronunciation or meaning intended.

If the discussion would like to continue it can be through private messages or I can create a new thread. However, we currently do not have an “Off Topic” forum like we used to.

So my suggestion is to start a group chat for those that would like to continue this discussion.

ETA- spun off thread to About This Site+ Feedback so it is not clogging up social media posts. Discussion can wrap up there and then migrate to private messages. THANK YOU!

I kind of like the Leos but I’m offended by the photography. Who shoots promo shots in direct sunlight?
