It's astonishing to me the way Romania seems willing to tear down their entire system for one athlete and coach. But I guess it's really more doubling down on the old way of doing things, that the way the people in charge were brought up wasn't wrong and how they're continuing is still the best way. Too much sunk cost for them to be able to overcome the thought process that also advantages them, too much of the goal being personal satisfaction instead of team success.

Do the higher ups still see Sabrina as the savior of Romanian gymnastics, despite everything? Or is there just too much invested in saying it to backtrack now?
It is ironic that Octavian Belu and Mariana Bitang are so involved in all this. It's hard to imagine that they'd ever have indulged inconsistency like Sabrina's, or just ignored the bits of the code they didn't fancy when planning her routines. Yes, I think too much invested ...

Apparently the 'Voinea National Team' is back training at Lia Manoliu, because this is the facility provided by their club...
Their supporters on Facebook are trying to frame the disbandment of the national team as a standard post-Olympic restructuring and are completely dismissing the logistical nightmare faced by the rest of the women.

^Yes.
Lia is a multi-sport national training center, similar to INSEP/Round Lake, which also provides affordable/subsidized(?) dorm accommodation for national team athletes across multiple Olympic disciplines.
I've always found it odd that Sabrina lives there and not with her mom, but it's probably for the best...

I'm not sure. Based on some of their interviews, she has lived in the dorm in the lead up to Paris.
It's obviously not unusual in the context of elite gymnastics, but I would assume most pre-college aged people would rather live at home, if they had the opportunity.
