thanks gymfan, I really don’t know the code well, are the routines you are posting what you think she is doing? Do they equal the SV posted the result sheet?

What would you have her replace and what with?

triple double with the really-simple full-twisting double layout?

LOL

DLO 1/1
Biles - Stag 0.1
Full to Full In 0.2
Silivas 0.2
Split to Gogean
Switch 1/1
Double Wolf

HGCEH/DDD 0.5 = 6.8

She had a 6.7. Maybe one of the leaps were short.

She basically has her early 2018 routine back. Ridiculous.

I’m going to guess that she did the Biles II, didn’t connect out of the Biles I, and had both leaps downgraded. The connection and leaps were never secure.

I’d bet she trained as soon as she got over the twisties but took time off for her weddings. And the festivities.

There would be pictures of her in the gym but we all thought she was maybe just noodling around. Guess she showed us!

Simone is such a talented athlete that she could take off 4 months, show up to the gym and throw a Silivas on floor immediately.

She’s unreal.
Some gymnasts could only dream of doing a Silivas and the queen does it for her last pass.

I was going to say, do we know that she ever actually stopped? Obviously she’s had times when she was doing other things, having time off etc, but have we reason to think there was ever a sustained period out of the gym? It may have been a more gradual thing.

It lists U of Florida as her club, but her coaches are listed as Al and Armine
That’s the same thing they did with Gabby. They changed her gym to WOGA but still listed Kittia as her coach. I think the coach requires a specific update.

She could even do three passes tbh. DLO 1/1, Biles+Stag/Silivas, Front 1/1 to full-in. With her normal dance elements that’s a 6.4, counting a B. She can add another pass for event finals or something, when she really needs to separate herself.

Reviving this thread though with the Olympics four months away, predictions and speculations are no longer premature.

USA: We have yet to see Carey back in elite, Suni's first comp back was a bust, we probably won't see Gabby until American Classic, no new seniors really have a chance, and the threat of "Joscelyn Roberson, Olympian" still swings over our heads like the proverbial pendulum. The team will be built around Simone and Shilese.

Brazil: The Olympic team will be last year's World's team.

France: See Brazil

GBR: Kind of looking like the USA circa 2008, last women standing

I will say, if I had to pick one of those six to fizzle out by next fall, it would be shilese. The rest have proven track records of longevity.

You didn't bet money on this, I hope.

The only people I would put on an Olympic team today are Biles and DiCello. DiCello is the only US gymnast to post Olympic worthy scores so far this year, and Biles is most likely capable of performing her usual.

Of the big names: Chiles and Carey were both rough last year, and now Chiles is freshly injured. Zeiss’ injury from last year is looking like it basically ended the quad for her. Roberson is a question mark with her ankle recovery. Suni hasn’t shown that she can hit her routines. Douglas we haven’t seen at all.

Jones and Wong are probably good to go, just haven’t seen them yet this year. Blakely is inconsistent under pressure. Lincoln needs to compete more, can she stay near the top two years in a row?

No one who competed at April camp did anything impressive, aside from Pease who isn’t eligible for the Olympics. The new seniors aren’t putting up competitive scores on enough events yet. If Dulcy Caylor does well at Jesolo, maybe she’ll be the Roberson of this year and ride that surge of confidence into the top group.

With the amount of people who aren’t competing anything until US Classic, I don’t think I could predict who will make Trials let alone the Olympic Team. So my only prediction is we will end up with surprising AA placements at Nationals. I don’t think all the big players are going to stay at the top, and more of the B team then we’d expect will end up in the top 10.

No Jones?

No Jones?
No, only because I haven’t seen her compete this year. Biles is the only person getting an exception to that rule lol.

I do think she’ll probably be on the team, a higher chance than Wong, I just don’t feel confident enough to name her yet. She does have that shoulder injury they’re rehabbing without surgery. Without seeing her compete, we don’t know how that’s been affecting her training this year.

One thing going for Shilese is that she paced herself last year and didn't do any international meets and waited until US Championships to compete, I believe. She then had a very successful Worlds with three more medals (1 gold team, AA and UB bronze) plus she made beam and floor finals.
I anticipate that she can do the same this year as well.
